Just wondering where everyone else gets there music production info from apart from SA.Which magazines everyone buys, dvds, books and other websites i know there’s loads out there just don’t want to waste my money on garbage.Any info much appreciated
Future Music
Computer Music.
Music Tech
there’s no other sites i use for vids unless someone puts the odd link in the forum every now again
i read computer music and found the new sample magic “secrets of house music production” book really good people also recommend “the dance music manual” but i’ve yet to get a copy yet its next on my shopping list
i search youtube quite a bit

Youtube can be good, although the only problem with it is you find yourself watching a lot of crap to eventually find anything half usefull. lol.
Music Tech - never really liked that one but future music and computer music for sure. Lots of good producer vids from previous future music on google videos - just do a search for ‘in the studio with’
future music and computer music although CM can sometimes seem to be a bit like “my first future music” lol, always find good info from sound on sound, you tube and other blogs are good for most things although the searching through crap can become very counter productive.
Dance Music Manual and now The Secrets Of House Production are a must for every producer.
The Music Tech and Computer Music Specials are a great source of concentrated information for specific packages. The ones on Ableton, for example, are excellent, and the earlier ones (on Ableton 5, 6 etc) are just as good as the recent ones. You can get back issues direct from the publishers websites or eBay.
Have you seen what Point Blamk charge?
Think i’ll stick with SA.
My studio mate was with point blank and he said he could learn more if he put one of his turds in front of a screen and called it a tutor!
he's not the only one that has given that view either, i have several friends that gave really bad reviews of Pointblank.
i did consider pointblank myself but could not afford it luckily as soon after i heard they were turd…
its been a while since i’ve used youtube i cant be bothered trawling through all the crap
Take a look at some of these links
Then just carry on from there - some good stuff and not too hard to find.
Enjoy
I’ve seem some point blank videos and they are good but way too expensive
they’ve got courses which can cost up to £6000 the last time I looked.
You can’t beat sa for value for money even if they are not perfect!
