also belmondo 2.0 is a sequel as well lol

Fair split or not it’s always been that way, stores like HMV etc take around 70/80% of the sale, it’s messed up.

It’s just a british music / film / media store, it’s not doing too well now due to most people buying their music and film from the internet but it’s just how it goes these days.

I’m doing a Digital Music course and in my first year in my music business classes we looked at the percentages that everyone takes in the chain from the sales of a music album, I remember being so shocked by how much the store takes. I don’t know if it’s worse or about the same at Beatport, it’s probably about the same, all I know is that after all the cuts the artist gets such a tiny amount from each sale.

exactly, is not fair in your opinion , nor mine, … nor nobody’s , bot nobody does ****

www.bandcamp.com is a solution with fair percentage and system, unfortunately the dj scene is too much used to beatport , it will take time to change dj’s mind to go buy music somewhere else

in reality, its not about being a sequel or not, it is all about which one you listened first
thegeek (22/04/2012)
Yeah, radio is obviously a big deal – but the only “dance music” you’re going to hear on the radio in the U.S. is some e from David Guetta with Rihanna screaming like a dying animal over it. Shudder

Not saying David Guetta’s all that bad – he’s got some great tracks – but the stuff that makes it on the radio is usually just heinously bad. There are obviously always exceptions, but, my outlook isn’t that great.

But I must admit it IS starting to change a bit; you might hear Levels on the radio, for example, if you’re in Southern California, which has a much more mature EDM scene, but outside of that area, it’s pretty unlikely in my estimation.

Anything is possible, I suppose, but I still really believe the only money to be had is from playing gigs, unless you REALLY luck out or you’re REALLY famous.
David guetta is complete bull
! A fake. Plays premixed CDs. Has his decks and mixer unplugged and/or turned off. And has people produce his music for him. He’s a poser and a money making brand. A soulless sellout.

The problem is music/film is freely available to download on the Internet.
