not every girl is like that.
tech saaviness is key- but technology is getting easier and easier to understand, even for girls. or anyone who has never been to a tech school.
i’m learning ableton and programs by propellerhead. its a process!
Hey - Nice one for joining in & giving us a different perspective here.
I agree… Who cares. It doesnt actually matter at all.
Good to hear your opinion! No-one is gonna contradict you - you’re the expert here! LOL
endersbooch (13/12/2010)
We are living in a different time. Look at who our president is of U.S.
Who cares if the music industry/production/dj’s is predominately males. There are a ton of girls who DJ or make music. They just aren’t exposed as well as guys.
Not all girls are only into the expected “girly” things. We are all different.
Although, it is true that more guys are more tech-saavy.
I am a girl, but i love the things that most girls don’t like. video games. astronomy/cosmology/space, learning about music production, and a ton of other things.
It does take a lot more time for me to learn about programs and how things work. But i love it. It’s awesome to learn & stimulating. i’ve loved music since i was a kid.
Some people may produce music for attention or for creativity. Whatever their reason is. We all get inspired differently, whether we are a guy or a girl.
Music is also just a diff. form of communication.
Agreed - makes no differnce to me male/female or roben, just because the industry like most industries are male dominated shouldn’t deter anyone from making music, Its alot cheaper and more accessable

endersbooch - Thanks for joining in and placing your perspective! Also nice to know it’s not just all male here!
slender - i see what you did there :doze:
hopefully after the holidays i’ll be able to post some songs i’m working on. it’s so private for me though.
Oh, in response to someones post about how some dj’s make/mix music only to attract girls. That is so lame! Anyone smart enough will realize that. if music is your passion it’ll show.
When i like an artist/producer’s music, it’s because of his music that he presents. not because of anything else. nor do i care what he does, he/she can be the biggest tool, but i can still like their music.
Cool… So, now that we’ve found a female producer…
What do you think about forums?
Does the mainly Male community’s behaviour / language / attitudes etc… prevent you from posting on a regular basis?
Is there anything that makes you concerned - or want to not get involved?
I’ve been thinking about this a bit over the evening - and I think that if you were to take a core sample from here, you’d find that theres a lot of messing, joking around and of course… help
I think its a really good natured place.

+1.
Be great to know what you think from a female perspective.
To me…Forums are great for questions, feedback, help, etc. Great place to share stuff.
I kinda take things objectively though just because so much information is on the web. Oversaturated sometimes.
l’m really not on forums 24/7 though. I’d like to, but with a full time job it limits me sometimes rest is important to me too.
I’ve been experimenting on ableton with some midis and synths though. i love the analog sounds and envelope phasers, etc. i haven’t really made a full song yet.
This forum is pretty neat. I’ve checked out some of links, videos, etc that was posted under other discussions that has helped or put me in a direction. I know before ,it seemed a little more … professional?
And now it’s super casual? Which isn’t always a bad thing right?
I haven’t seen too much of the messing around type that your talking about. At least if i see it, i just kinda roll my eyes and click on the next thing.
Honestly, I think we all have been random or immature on forums. I know i have in the past. It happens!
I don’t really notice if there is a more male presence on forums or online. Not important to me. I guess more about knowledge & information.
i’m still new to music production.
oh ALSO.
Besides being new. i’m really trying not to make music while being “intoxicated” – it just seems backwards to me. going against the cliche of that.
Also some of the stuff i’ve experimented or made it’s really just that. learning. testing the waters.
i know what sounds i want, and what type of song but i just can’t get it exactly right yet.
Brilliant. We should put a link to this thread in the FAQ’s - Haha!
Thanks a lot for that. Really answers a lot of questions that I’ve had
What a coincendence that our surfing practices are pretty much the exact same when we have the same interests. Cheers for coming back with that.
Think we all like to complicate stuff too much. Its probably a lot simpler -or usually a bit different to what we’d like to think.
Stick around

It never sounds as good the next day.
