Its a thing of Stability ! You can Rewire reason with every daw if you need 3thd Party Plugs

Or it could be an attempt to close out the competition?

It feels kind of clunky to have to rewire just to get 3rd party vst support.

Imo its hard to take it serious as a true standalone music system until Vst is introduced.

Just wondering but have the Propellerheads implemented fullscreen support yet or a scalable solution?

it was and still is as far as i know supposed to be an all in one environment, they set out with this in mind and as far as their thinking goes reason has everything you need. propellerheads have strong belief that giving producer a basic set of tools will help them be creative.

Not hugely different to Protools in that aspect though is sit, don’t you need to use a VST wrapper in Protools?

And no one complains abut that not being pro.

yeah that bugged me a lot about reason

Do they not have the detatchable sequencer screen since 2.5 or 3?

Is that the FS support that y’all are talking about?

I seriously find it annoying now with all the cables & ****ing units that look the ****ing same. Hard going personally - when you have 3 or 4 redrums or Maelstroms etc… I dont know how many times I’ve changed the wrong setting on something.

They need a whole new Sequencer Window with Channels… & a better Mixer & some spectrum analysers / multimeter - type things.

I’ve signed up to Beta too… Should be interesting… But personally I think they have a plan - to keep squirting out a feature here & there, every now & then. More $$$ that way. Same business model as Nokia - LOL.

Expect Reason 22 to be your perfect solution.

Eh, one small problem though - We’ll all be deaf, dying & unable to communicate with anything, let alone a computer! :hehe:

I used to love Reason - its what got me into writing music on the computer so I’ll always have a soft spot for it, but these days it just seems a bit limited compared to something like Ableton or Logic. Reason is fun because it feels like you’re playing a computer game - its very accessible and you can get a half decent loop going in no time, but I found once you reach a certain level, it just doesn’t offer the depth other DAWs do. Has anyone else, for example, noticed that ‘Reason’ sound that filters into anything you write in it? A little too polished, even with things like Scream attached?

The one thing, however, that Reason continues to shine over everyone else with is the Matrix. I still think its the best software step sequencer out there (even over dedicated units like Thesys) because of its simplicity, so I’m interested to see what the new sequencer is in Reason 5. I keep meaning to build an equivalent with Max4Live, but I just haven’t had the time to learn the code yet.

im thinking about picking this up in a couple of months mainly to use for rewire

Aww Mate - Its like you’ve copied an old post of mine from somewhere. Totally agree with you on all of that. 100% on target - Give yourself a raise!

If the Matrix Seq was for sale as an AU, and could go as an insert on a channel (with drag & drop MIDI files onto the Main Arrange…) I would gladly pay E100 for it. The Matrix is probably what kept me using Reason for so long. Just hated how ****ing basic the whole thing was in the end & how complicated it had to be in the end in order to do something that is easy peasy in another bit of software.

Life’s too short - fcuk that!!

Really miss the Matrix. Still use certain Matrix concepts when making melodies / patterns now in Logic - but its not the same.

I got excited when I heard about the Sugarbytes stuff - but its too complicated - too many features.

Just want a Matrix! Boo Hoo! LOL

Dunno if I read this wrong Tommy - or just I read it wrong at the start & its in my head now -  But it got me smiling! Sorry Man - Not aimed @ you!

Thinking of picking this up so I can use Rewire!

LOL :hehe:

The Seq page looks to have gotten a fix up alright…

Today they have released a Pitch Correcting Tool, called Neptun for Record 1.5 !

yeah, I know, but I think it would be more flexible with VST instruments on it…

They should just make all their synths etc… available as AU / VST Bundle.

Imagine being able to use the Combinator with lots of stuff packed inside it?

Everyone says VST support etc… but I think it would be much better than Rewire.

Rewire is S hit.
