stop using illegal software and this wont happen…
Google the error message & it will give you a few ideas.
Profiles on your computer seems to be one… but I’m sure there are others.
cough
Just out of interest - How do you 2 Guys know that he is using illegal software?
Cos, as far as I can see, it can be a problem with permissions & plugins… both of which Ableton have supported customers for.
Have you ever got the same error? Is that how you both know 100%?
Just interested where you found it out
I’ve had this issue in Vista 64-bit while using 3rd party plug-ins, and I am a fully registered Suite user (i.e. I paid for it). So perhaps P.O.K. is making the same mistake I made by using Vista.
But I agree ppl shouldn’t be scumbags and use illegal software.
I’ve had the same problem since 8.21 and it is legit
So I think it’s pretty presumptuous to accuse someone of using pirated software when they are asking for help
Anyway the only solution I could find was working out which track was causing the problem and then freezing it

Ha ha I use vista 64 as well:blush:
Actually it’s probably the vst editor that I use for the external hardware that could be causing the problem

Great stuff - You’ve redeemed yourself - LOL
You’re not a complete Bastard
Now… whats Jan’s excuse! LOLOLOLOL :w00t: :hehe:
:)
Might be a stupid question, but how does the program know you are 3/4 of the way through a project? I mean, this is so bizarre to my thought process that I can’t even articulate why I think it’s odd!
There is a workaround, however… You could always use the Fibonacci series to set the size of your main section leading to the big break. Since there is no such thing as a “fraction” when it comes to the Golden Mean, you might be able to fool the computer into “looping” itself to infinity while you bypass the 3/4 anomaly and happily complete your track. Of course, this would be most useful if you produce trance.

ill be honest. this has happened to me a bunch of times in the past… same error.
I had a whole project get corrupted in january because I installed a plugin used it in the track and then the plugin realized it was cracked and ***ed my whole project up.
so yah… i know from personal experience…
the only time ableton is gunna shut down your project 3/4 through. its because something in that project realized its not legal. I swear they do that to fck your project up and to deter you from using illegal software.

ahemmm
I honestly dont believe that theres stuff like that built into software.
Its more likely to be issues with stability & other errors than anything.
Is there any proof of what you say UV? Would make sense, but I dont think they have it?
Something like Pace/Ilok/Syncrosoft - whatever they are… “I think” have a monitor system of looking for particular names or whatever patching they use to crack it on the system. So I’ve been told - but again, not sure if thats all old wives tales again.
Its all smoke & mirrors - from both sides.
Traktor had a time based piracy check. A couple of years ago the forums were full of people who were using cracked copies of Traktor complaining bitterly about audio stopping after 30mins or so.
As for the original problem, if your software is ligit - contact Ableton suport, they can use your crashlogs to help solve the problem.
if your software is cracked - buy your software.
Haha! Love it!
