Shamefully admitting

That it’s gotta be said, if David Guetta is producing all his own tracks, he’s one sh*t hot producer.

His tunes might not always be my kinda thing, but they’re very cleverly and technically made.

i’m not a big fan of his recent stuff, but thats matter of taste

his not doing everything himself and I think that’s alright tho,

he obviously knows how to put pieces together for a great effect,

No way Man…

I shamefully admit that I was thinking about starting a Thread last night called Guilty Pleasures…

Definitely Guetta is one. Great Pop tunes - Have to hand it to him, he’s had a lot of success & its cos they’re great Pop tunes. Really catchy & kinda interesting.

Interesting part of his sound that syncopated up & down 2 sample Guitar like from the Egg remix… he’s used that idea over & over, but it works… & is identifiable.

The other lot that I am really impressed with for the same reasons are the Black Eyed Peas.

Have you heard that track - Imma Be? How many ideas feature in that song… Its like 2 or 3 tunes mixed together. I think they’re extremely interesting to listen to.

what do you mean its not all done by him?

Yeah creativly they have hit the nail on the head.

I don’t really like his tunes but I do find them catchy as hell. I too have noticed he likes using his guitar plucks but yeah it’s defo that guetta sound.

What i’m mostly impressed with is the depth, width and clarity of his productions, the fullness of the sound.

I wish i could produce like that.

alot of the bigger producers dont do all the producing & mixing themselves.

in the article mentioned above, it states that Frédéric Riesterer co-wrote and produced Guetta’s latest album. Check the article by clicking the link below.

this is a dark secret for lots of artists / famous DJs (that they dont all make their music). Lots of them just pay people to help them write music. For instance BT has written & produced Tons of songs with Tiesto’s name on it. A lot of really famous djs are just riding the wave and having other people do the dirty work. I’m sure Guetta does some producing, but now that he is so huge, he can just pay people to do the time consuming stuff… ie being creative. lol.

Yeah it makes sense, I read yesterday that he did 200 gigs last year. I wondered to myself how the f*ck he found time to produce with so many gigs!!

thats disgraceful!!

i know timbaland does the same thing too tho. hes got a guy called Danja. hes very good. he did britneys “gimme more” and a few other tracks on the justin timberlake albums. god knows what else he did for timbaland.

Oh he’s not the only one. Tiesto, Guetta, Sharam, Oakenfold and many more… None of them really make their music anymore. They just slap their name on it to get sales. They pay big bucks to top of the line producers. I’m not saying they have never made a track… I’m sure that at some point they have… But now they are so big they dont need to because they can just pay somebody else to do it and pay them to shut up. In my mind the reason for people starting to hate guys like Tiesto & Oakenfold is because they basically sold out and stopped being creative to start being a product.

Guys like sharam & guetta are huge and try 2 keep their non-production time under lock and key. But to your point if your playing 200 gigs a year. Almost impossible to have time to produce. Eventually when people start 2 figure that out, guetta will begin to lose his appeal as well. Tiesto & Oakey both suck now in my eyes.

Other big guys like Armin, PVD, Justice, Daft Punk, Sean Tyas, Sander Van Doorn… they all make their music obviously. And this is why their popularity continues 2 grow.

Until then… I have to agree. guetta is a guilty pleasure of mine as well.

oh and i know all this because I have a friend that actually did a track for a big name.

not just speculation. its a fact.
