I’m a smoker myself but only just started smoking and going to clubs when the ban had been put in. I’m just wondering, did you guys prefer it when the ban wasn’t there? I’ve heard mixed reviews but being in Belgium where it’s still allowed, I preferred it. Just seems more chilled and that.
What I don’t get is why they don’t make certain clubs smoking and non smoking over here. As a biased perspective the ban is a load of bollocks to me, see when you’re just having fun with mates, why can’t I just light up a fag and chill. Noone really cares anyway at dance clubs as most of them smoke anyway.
So yeah I’m just trying to see from the people who went to before and after the ban what they think. Cool.
i used to chain smoke every time i was Djing .at least 2 packs of cigarettes every time i was Djing . thanks to that law i quit smoking 2 years ago .
Haha, yeah.
What about the overall vibe or feeling to the place, you think it’s changed it at all?
There is no difference in the vibe of clubs after the smoking ban.
I personally hated it as a non smoker myself, i didn’t see why I should have to breathe in other peoples bad habits.
It’s kinda like a heroin addict injecting himself then going around injecting everyone else around him with a tiny bit too.

LOl not sure many heroin addicts would go around sharing their gear - which just goes to prove us smokers are a generous lot
Actually not bothered about the smoking ban in clubs as usually one can escape the heat and chill outside - and as for work I can disappear for 10 minutes when ever I like
I was always against smoking in restaurants even as an avid smoker - pubs is a bit more of a hassle
I used to love smoking 30 fags when I went raving. Getting brown fingers and black boggies was the best!:hehe: great coming down and picking your nose. I’ve given up for 5 years now best thing I’ve ever did!

The defend is the same. No more kids smoking marijuana in the dj booth anymore heheh
I smoke a lot myself and i have mixed feelings. I find it annoying to think about the fact i’m not aloud to smoke anymore and i’ve been kicked out a few clubs in the beginning…
As or dj-ing i dont give a **** and still smoke my joints and never been kicked out
In the place where we throw parties it is still aloud to smoke, drink do what ever you want. (old squat place) so this is nice.
I do think for a dj it is harder to get people in the mood, you can not really build up your set and get people hooked because they are not there to listen and experience the whole… I find more dj’s are just banging all the way (not a bad thing by it self)

Tbh I think the smoking ban is possibly the biggest pile of wank ever. Also all these people who scream like little bitches about breathing smoke etc need to get real. It infuriates me tbh because theyll complain about smoke but they wont complain about all the toxic fumes they breathe in just walking through their local city centre and they definately wont complain about there severe hearing damagr at a club due to the extreme loud music. Now these things might seem trivial but if yoir gonna complain about passive smoke then you might as well complain about everything, live in a bubble and never leave your house. Theres more chance of you being hit by a bus than there is of you dying die to people smoking in a club/bar that you might visit a few times a month.
Also at the core, why should the smokers be punished? What makes a non smoker better than a smoker? Why are there smoking areas instead of non smoking areas?
Seriously people need to grow some balls and realise that smoking/alcahol go hand in hand. The smoking ban is killing the bar/club/pub scene everywhere. There are soooooo many places going bust because of the ban, people struggling to make ends meat and feed their kids, but awww **** it kist as long as you fags get to breathe clean air, thats all that matters right?
This is supposed to be a free world, so a smoker has just the same right to smoke inside a club as a non smoker has to not smoke inside a club. Also on a side note next time you go out enjoy the smell of BO and sweat its lovely and refreshing and there is no smoke to cover it up anymore.

Jan I could take you too a few places where that is encouraged - you may come out a different man though
Lol it always has to go down to Brighton with you doesnt it mate…

I think the above statement is the biggest pile of wank ever!
Please explain to me why I should be forced to share your addiction with you. Smoking makes your clothes smell, your eyes dry and I’m sure my hangovers got a bit more bearable when I moved to a country with a smoking ban, but that last one could be bollocks really.
Toxic fumes, whilst pretty damn awful and contribute to a lot of illness / global warming etc, are a necessary evil in this world. There’s no way you could live your life without transportation. You can with out cigarettes. There’s no way you could smoke without transportation - how would the tobacco get to you from another country. Therefore that argument sucks.
Loud music - when you walk in that club you choose to walk in there and put yourself in harms way. The people that work there can also wear ear protection. If there were ‘smokers clubs’ and you chose to go there then fine, you’re putting yourself in harms way. But why should a whole pub full of people have to breath in smoke because one guy wants to fire up a cancer stick? Also how do you protect the staff? Gas masks?
Nothing makes a non smoker better - there are smoking areas (outside) and non smoking areas (inside). Not sure your argument there.
Indeed this is a free world, by your argument I should be able to masturbate on the train because I have the same rights as those people that fire off knuckle children in the privacy of their own bedrooms!
The BO comment made me laugh though - there really are some smelly fekkers out there that have become very apparent since the ban!
Also - I know that people sometimes get a bit offended on this board so I should end this by saying that the intention was not to offend you but you’re still a bellwhiff!

What we are not - fck thats why I am banned from every train service

Its actually no illegal to Wank one off in a train…wait or is that a plane?
“Loud music - when you walk in that club you choose to walk in there and put yourself in harms way. The people that work there can also wear ear protection.”
Yeah you choose to walk into harms way, same goes for smokers. As for its not a necesety for life, do you realise how much money governments make off of tabacco taxes?
Also what really makes me laugh is people like you will sit there and uproar about someone smoking next to you but at the same time you will also sit there and down 20 pints…
Is smoking the no1 killer? NO, alcahol claims the lives of far more people on a short term basis and costs governments soooooooo much money, but why is there no alcahol ban??? You ask why you should have to breathe in someone elses harmfull smoke, but why should i have to put myself in harms way and potentially get assaulted/killed by some yob whos had a few too many? For every argument you bring there is a counter argument its just very cool these days to be against smoking. Just let people smoke and dont believe everything you hear on the One show.
Your argument Jan is a load of bllx…
… just sayin’.
Jan - smoking is one of the few pastimes/hobbies/addictions where you force me to take part too. Your hobby kills people and not just the ones that do it.
Drinkers don’t pour booze down my throat the way you force me to breathe your sh!t.
Mate I grew up in a pub I really do speak from experience here. I went to sleep every night with the smell of smoke wafting up from downstairs.
Though if there’s one bad thing that’s come of the ban it’s that it has forced the stupid ones onto the street so I now can be walking along minding my own business only to inhale a lungful of cr@p from someone huddling in a doorway.
What Jonsloan said - I’m forced to breath your smoke whether I like it or not. I don’t pour beers down your throat. Although I would go to a bar where people did that
Also about the assault comment - 99% of the time you wont get assaulted in a pub. 100% of the time when there’s a smoker in the pub I will breath in his/her smoke.
It’s a lifestyle choice that, by smoking in a pub, you ARE forcing on other people. How would you like it if I got my train jizz on you?
