So what track made you want or inspire to produce?

So what track was it that when you heard at home or in a club, whatever, that made you say to yourself… “Right, I have to make this stuff”?

For me it was this. Heard it 2 years ago on spotify, thought sheet, what have I been missing. So I got a copy of FL and started to mess about. The rest is history  -

really cool video .

Best remix ever - EVER

Yeah mate, it’s absolutely insane.

Ok, instead of a track that inspired you to create, why not the track that turned your interest of dance music into a passion.

This made me feel passionate

Originally:

DOA - A Film.

I was 14 & it made me want to be mental. The American Punks in it are strange.

Sex Pistols playing Bodies on their US tour blew me away. My Mates Bro had a tape of them years before, but it was the 1st time I’d ever been able to connect an image with the sound.

Dance Music:

Luke Slater / Planetary Assault Systems (Sounds loads better pitched up)

My Mate used to cane it. Was class. He used to play another record, cant remember what its called now, but once we listened to it over & over so much that I heard it everywhere I went for about 24hrs after. Didnt help that I was “unsober”

<EMBED height=315 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=420 src=- YouTube allowscriptaccess=“always” allowfullscreen=“true”>

Haha.

Please tell me you were bouncing off the walls to this one mate with your snowballs and shamrocks

Sorry - No.

My best mate used to love all that stuff… & I’d listen to be polite etc… but secretly hated it. He knew it though - LOL

That sounded too Happy & in the key of C for me

Fair doos mate.

So you got into punk first and then into house/techno?

What would you say the best time was for techno? As in coupled with the parties, the general vibe and the music being made at the time? What’s changed since the early days and is it getting better or do you think it’s all getting a bit repetitive and something has to change?

Dunno… No-ones opinion is definitive. Everything is relevant. Everyone falls out of the loop before they fkn know it. Good music is Good Music. Good times are Good times.

This is my Fave song from the 1st tape I ever bought. I can whistle every single fkn note of the entire album. Listen to it every Sunday Morning. I’ll cry when the tape snaps  :)

Glenn Miller - Moonlight Serenade

<EMBED height=315 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=420 src=Moonlight Serenade - YouTube allowfullscreen=“true” allowscriptaccess=“always”>

This is the 1st 7" I bought. Bit dodgy, but I still have it & like it :hehe:

The moonlight serenade song is amazing. It’s the old analogue recording which just makes it something special.

Its a spine tingler alright. Most beautiful song ever IMO

I’d put it a close second behind this one bud - sorry.

If theres one thing that makes me vomit, its kids pretending to be adults:

Can I lodge a genuine complaint to the Continuity Ombudsman for the absense of an accurate representation of Olivia Newton John’s Catsuit in this Vid?

Fk Mike Mansfield.

G’wan!!

Fk - Forgot about this.

Remember hearing it on the radio as a Kid & was like WTFF!!!

Only years later did I hear it again & understood what it was. Sounded like nothing else. Suppose this was a plant for electronic music.

Classic mate. Absolutely love that tune, although I do prefer Joy Division’s stuff - more raw and heartfelt it seems.

You said that good times are good times, but honestly mate, you must know that it’s not good times right now. Even I know it and have experienced feck all, it’s gonna be another few years till we actually know what to do with all this new found technology and how to incorporate it properly into our lives.

That’s why to me right up until 2000, things seemed much better. It’s clear, people just knew how to have fun, and it wasn’t just a select few - everyone was doing it. To me it seems at the moment we’re going backwards as a society like, you now have to get a degree in order to succeed at life yet the fees to do so are going up. It all just seems like one big massive business and we have to invest in our future, like screw that man, what if we want to live for the moment?

I see so many people on here as well like just trying to get music signed, back in the day man I’m sure it wasn’t like that. It was just about having fun with sounds and getting a party on the go, throw some drugs in the mix and bobs your uncles. It’s not about having fun anymore, it’s about how successful you can be which is a load of bollocks in the end.

I think its always been like that Saul. You’ve just described the thing that has make every rebellious movement kick out against the system.

Thats what makes people try to do summat different Mate.

Everything is cyclical. Todays cutting edge is tomorrows Rolling Stones.

Its a fk you to the Stars that didnt commit suicide.

Im with you on that mate. That’s where I’m from  1992 was the best year for hardcore.

This is one of the many tracks that made me want to make music. - YouTube

It actually sounds better today than it did back then. Especially against all that clean crisp sounding **** you hear these days Raw but with emotion
