First off fiddle around watch the tuts they are very good starting point - also buy this book it is really simple

Available on ebay and pretty cheap too

There are a couple of book threads here you could search for. I really like the Dance Music Manual by Rick Snowman. If you get it, my advice would be to skim the first two chapters for an overview. Skip the third (unless you have hardware). Play with the examples in the fourth then go back over chapters one and two.

I have it. I hate reading, so its coming slow. But…Im taking a synthesis class right now at Berklee as we speak, so thats why.

The Guy is a bore… ah well…

What are the instructions like in it? Worth getting?

Is is basic 1D sound design, or is it a bit little more inspirational in places?

Desperate Q’s Howie - Sorry!

I dunno dude. Im thinking that honestly, I wont need it after my Berklee class.

Cool find mate

i think the best way to learn synthesis is to learn what a synth is, all its parts and how/why they do what they do. the easiest way to do that is to google search for all parts needed. learn to understand what type of synthesis you are using and how it works. once you have that knowledge, making the sounds you want will become easier.

there is a tone of info on wiki and google for free.
