The strangest Dj gig u ever had!

was wondering what other Djs experience about it .

I was Djing today in this event where they brought a live chimpanzee doing circus stuff. pretty insane when people started to Cheer when the monkey started to Dance lol

really weird gig.

does anyone had similar or other silly gigs?

just wondering lo

Used to play alot in the London Gay scence in 90’s, and twice played at a mixed gay and lesbian underground techno S&M club - all I can say here is that I thought I was pretty openminded sorta guy, but some off the things I saw trully shocked me

I played a gig in a dive of a place called “lock stock” in Norwich City. Half way through my set a guy (crackhead looking) decided to grab one of the turntables ripping it out by the wires and running out of the club, only he didn’t quite get that far after running up some steps he obviously didn’t see. He knocked himself out on the turntable

LOL - silly crackhead fail

lol Jon!

You know what, thinking about it I can’t say i’ve ever had anything that matches the weirdness of you guys, maybe one day.

I can imagine DJing for Torture Garden must be pretty weird, not sure if you guys have heard of it?

It’s some kinda fetsh night, big in London, you get people hoisted up by hooks through the skin of their backs and all that stuff.

Heeeellooooooo!!

I say Old Boy… Is Brighton not quite rather like a Torture Garden anyway?

I hear your last audience are all over on another forum talking about how wierd it is watching you Disk Jockey the night away.

i didn’t wear anything strange when i went and i saw 20-30 people wearing normal clothes. i know at some of their events there are strict dress codes but you just need to check before you decide to go to one. personally i had a great night with a great bunch of people but if i decided to go again i would defo dress for the occasion looked like great fun and i’d probably feel less of a twat in latex pants than i would wearing half the tatty crap all the cyber kiddies wear these days. after all you could wear a long jacket over the top.

that sorta things not really me but still i had a wicked night as did nearly all my friends. you may not be into the bondage but its not that shocking and the only other reason i would see someone not wanting to go was if they were homophobic but you can’t be that, you live in brighton and you play house music.

Yeah I’m not homophobic, one of my very good friends is gay, he’s who we’re supporting at this event on Saturday actually as he’s doing PA.

I always pictured Torture Garden as more a ‘swingers’ and ‘bondage’ thing though?

But anyways i guess i’d go, but i’m not really into wearing latex and i’d feel a bit of a tw*t going there dressed normal, i’d feel like i’m being ‘square’ and boring you know?

haha one of my friends went to the last brighton torture garden dressed in latex and wearing a large rubber strap on, very funny.

i was always told it was more about body piercing, tattoo’s, bondage and unusual forms of art but i guess its open to what you want to see it as. my friends brother is very shallow minded and decided to go half way through his first drink and didn’t speak to me for nearly a year but then he thinks being gay is an mental illness.

Cool

try this link if the Private is still on

i once played at a swingers club it was a very surreal bizzare experience indeed i’m open minded but it was quite shocking lol

it was strange djing to a crowd of women in there undies luckily they were all fairly tidy apart from one women who looked like bo selectors mel b impersanation then after i’d been playing for no longer than two hours at most the dancefloor cleared and they all went off to do each others wives so i stuck on a cd and went and got pissed at the bar

lol pretty cool, i like the wolf, that’s quirky.

It looks and reminds me a lot of a night called ‘Pussycat’ which is down here, each month they have a different theme for the night, they always have stage performances depending on what the theme is. One time it was brazilian themed so they had Capoeria on stage, another time was Circus themed so they had clown acts, etc.

Fire breathing, fire / glowstick poi, even trapeize!

I used to DJ for them on occasion, but as the night i play/d for is a partnership brand, i wasn’t allowed to do both. I mostly just did club photography for them after that.

It’s pretty cool to have stuff like that going on, keeps things more interesting!

By the way, looks pretty big crowd, what was the capacity? Where was it? What club? What was the brand?
