PART 1
Will watch eagerly tomorrow mate.
All I use it for is the wet/dry… & crank the drive (or preset hop & mess with the w/d).
Sounds promising J!
Awesome. just what i needed.
oh man yer a legend
im using it on the masterout for my live set at the min
will be good to use it properly!
Wow! Fast turnaround man! You are on fire!! Maybe you should be getting donations or something to keep you going!!
Thanks again Jamie, I have a much better idea of what is going on with this now.
One thing I do differently to you, because I was taught to, is I use the output knob to turn the output down. I keep my signal at -12db through each plug, so I will pop a Sonalksis FreeG after the VW and use it to check peak value. I will then use the output knob to turn down the signal to the same level as it was on the way in, ie -12. The advantage of this is the signal going into the next plug isn’t too hot, and to A/B your sound you can simply bypass the VW.
There is a very indepth tutorial on compressors on here already, it is excellent you should check it out:

You are the man. Seriously. I actually understand what that plug does now. Very clear explanation as usual. No more simple preset tweaking for me.
Thanks guys! Aline, Jon…
Chekka: A little goes a long way.
J4: I wish I could but I don’t have those plugs.
Gav: Awesome! Just knowing it was helpful is good enough for me.
Ant: That’s a great way to use it! With the VW, it is so important to start with a good amount of headroom. The plug will definitely provide what is needed beyond that. Haha!

Sweet
Hey Jamie,
I know you do these for free, but have you ever thought of putting a donation link on these vids?
I’m sure most of us would want to give a little something for your help. I think you’re really missing out on some money for your time.
Jamie - I have a “friend” (coughs) who has trouble getting girls
can you whip him up a vid?
man you got the magic touch!!!
Nah, considering it’s Bryan and Phil’s website I don’t think that would be appropriate. How about this: When I get some tunes out there, perhaps donate that way by buying them. All this I’m doing with regards to the tutorials and any musical profit I might get in the future from songs and such is going toward charity anyway. So that would be good enough for me, just buy a tune or two when I release something.

Tell your “friend” (a-hem) to start acting very, very gay. He’ll have girls climbing over him in no time.

Good point about Bryan and Phil. Sometimes I forget there are people who man this machine.
I’ll definitely purchase that Sky Light song you’re working on.
Heard it’s brilliant. LOL
All kidding aside, I would definitely like to contribute in some form, so I’d be more than happy to pick up a tune or two.
