Taking our courses to the next level, here on Sonic you can now watch the track being made, download both the project and stems and then submit your own remix with the chance to win some great and exclusive prizes.

The How To Make Trance Remix Contest is exclusive, here on Sonic Academy and you could be in with a chance of winning some cool prizes and ultimately getting a release on the brand new Sonic Academy Record Label!
We know we have one of the best music-making communities anywhere, and the level of production skillz coming through the forums is truly amazing.
So, ourselves along with James Dymond, Protoculture and Sean Tyas are super excited to see what you guys can come up with - we know you can smash it. You can now download the stems from this awesome tune and start working your magic!
We have shown you how to make the tune, now it’s over to you to get creative, make an awesome remix of this track and show the world your production talent.

Is it just me or are there some Files Missing when Downloading the Remix Packs? I was just looking through the James Dymond Project Files Download and there seems to be only 1 Project File “12. Structure part 2” is this correct ?

SA team will confirm but it seems to me that’s the Final Project. The name is a bit confusing tho

Hey, I would like to know if I am allowed to use royalty-free samples or presets from sample packs etc. in my remix, because the following rule does not make it clear to me : “Cannot sample any other artist or any pre-existing works; tracks containing any samples or pre-existing works will not be considered.”

Question: For our remix to be accepted, must we use the vocals in it’s entire (all the lyrics) or can we leave some words out?

You can use samples from packs but not anything from already ready released music. However we want we to be creative !

obligatory payment for entering the contest…well, ok…strange but…ok. but anyway, i cannot pay for subscription, because it says: “no accout” ,even if im am logged in. guys, if you wanna make money, then fix this…

Remix Competitions are exclusive to subscribers yes.

@sample82 You mean to upload your Remix ?

The Select File is not a button, you should see a Choose File or Browse… button above this.

Working without issue using Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox here

@Stef Sonic, so how can I submit?
After I have uploaded my mp3 file and typed a title, what should I do?
I don’t have a way to send the file.

@sample82 Sorry for delayed reply over the weekend

1 - Click on the “Choose File” / “Browse” button and a Finder/Explorer window will open.

2 - Select the audio file you’d like to upload ( it can be MP3 or WAV file format ) and click Open.

3 - Name your file : e.g → My Trance Takeoever Remix

4 - Once you’ve completed those steps, the upload button should activate.

Confirm and wait for the upload
