You know… it amazes me that people want to take and not give back. I asked for feedback, and many have given it, but alot have not. I will refer back to this thread when I’m distributing my next tutorial.
Kinda messed up.
Hey man
Late to the party but can you forward me the link dude
cheers
Alot of us are new to production and dont want to sound like noobs on the forums but im sure you thought about that so i will stick with the SA videos i guess.

To be honest it is not very difficult to clock up 50 posts in this forum, all you need to do is listen too peoples tracks in the Podcast - Tunes - Mixes thread, say thanks etc etc.
As for not wanting to sound like a noob this is the only music tec forum I know where people are able to ask the most basic questions (including myself) and they will receive at least 3 or 4 answers that are not patronising but constructive and helpfull, Howie and a few others being the most prolific.
I would not like to second guess Howies reason for asking people for 50 posts but I presume he wants to give something back to the site to the people who have helped and entertained him.
As for other people not saying thanks it is pretty unbeleivable in my book, Howie has no agenda for giving this and other tuts up except he’s a decent fellow.

In hindsight it may have been better to have split the video tutorial into 2 parts and allowed everyone to download part 1.
You could have declined to send the second part to anyone who didn’t bother sending feedback.
At least that way the high post count could have been avoided.
Whatever you should be proud that the thread got so much attention (and is still active) and give yourself a pat on the back Howie.
Thanks for putting in the time and effort to make these tutorials. I am a complete noob when it comes to music production, so cant give advice on summit i know very little about:) I am sure when it all falls into place it will make sense to me.

Ill throw response to everyone in this post.
Everyone was a “noob” at one point or another. Even the biggest and best producers in the world.
Everyone is right. I have absolutely no agenda whatsoever. I am super busy with going to Berklee, making music, the gym, and making my own music (I threw the gym in there to add less time to my day ;)). I really like this website and I enjoy teaching and helping others out. You are free to go to www.mnml.nl and ask some of the questions that others ask here and you will see the type of answer you will get. This is a teaching forum and no question is too dumb. We all have fun on here and love to help one another out.
When I have time I will put more videos up. However, everyone should take part in the discussions, regardless of how much or how little they know. It all contributes to the community. I belong to three other forums. On the other forums, they would call someone that doesn’t contribute to the forum a “troll”. Don’t just take guys…give back in any way you can for the betterment of the community.
Thanks…
Bloody trolls!

Hey Bubble…sent…
This topic is creating quite a stir!
you love it!
damnit, i thought this tutorial was going to show me how to make beef wellington. Do you have time to make a progressive beef wellington tut? I’m working on a mnml hollandaise tut. Dinner party!

Kinda…
Howie, Thank you for this tutorial, anything theory related is very useful.
I appreciate your effort but you are not the only busy person in the world, people have lives and priorities too. I’m sure everyone is grateful.
I wish you’d include some of the less keyboard happy members. Not everyone has a time to post on forums. Not everyone is as comfortable with writing or even asking questions. The are people here from all over the world, some may not be able to write in English! Post number is hardly an indicator of the quality of the contribution too.
Absolutly agree with Sean! If anyone has seen any of my posts I still have trouble logging into the forums from any computer - I can only get on via a select 1!
I don’t agree Sean, sorry bro.
It’s not hard to contribute now and then, regardless if you have good english or not.
50 posts isn’t like Howie’s asking for people to have 1000s, anyone can rack up 50 posts with ease.
If you’re not making posts then you’re not part of the community, if you’re not part of the community why should you then take community stuff?
It’s like walking into a Scout camp and taking all their cakes.
I also feel that unless you’re a SA Subscriber then you also shouldn’t be allowed any community shares.

That would have been more like it.
If people want to part with their cash and not post thousands then so be it - wouldn’t you say that is more than enough contribution!

Not really, because that’s contribution to the company (SA) not contribution to it’s members.
