Unofficial Sonic Academy Meet

Alright guys,

Ok basically i was thinking we should meet up in the new year, maybe March? (open to thoughts on date) in London. We could all even possibly visit Egg’s studio? (Egg2, your thoughts on this?)

Then of course, VIP party at some club.

Maybe if Phil or any of the other SA guys are DJing in London in 2010 then maybe we could arrange around that date?

I’m up for arranging and planning this, who’s in?

I think the winter music conference would be better.

Well if anyone can afford to go then great. No harm in doing a WMC meet AND a London meet.

How about we bring some tunage to a fat squat party and arrange to play ?

guys

this is a great idea and we’ll support in whatever way we can

i’ll get louise our new marketing manager to speak to you guys about what we can do to help

we’re already talking about some nice stuff for the user council - one idea being touted is bringing you all to belfast once a year and having a full programme of events for you all to attend…

watch this space!

kev

Love the idea, it sounds fantastic. I’d be well up for helping out if I can, and of course, attending the event :stuck_out_tongue:

Heh I’ll come if someone pays for a flight from New Zealand

and florida…

and san diego, if i was to party in london again i would love to go to ministry of sound

the sound system is one of the best ive heard. if you stand next to speakers in the baby box it will rip your pants off because of the excessive bass levels

Yeah

MOS would be cool actually. Maybe we could go on a Morillo night hah

i m down for London! something in middle of april …

would be great to organize it as soon as possible,

so i can book the flight much cheaper!

good idea , guys!

greets

anyone know if toolroom Knights are doing one at MOS next year

They did one quite recently actually Jon! Maybe there might be some info on their website as to whether they’re doing another session next year.

Ok i’ll look for something around march/april time, a good night which we’d all be interested in attending.

Ok so hows this for plan so far:

Day: Possible day meet? in a bar or even an arranged studio visit somewhere?

Evening: Dinner at restaurant somewhere then afterwards we hit MOS for the planned night out.

I’ll look into local (as in close to the club lol) hotels when we have a better idea of date.

edit

I appreciate that not everyone can attend due to everyone being in different locations around the world, however no matter where we do a meet, someone’s not going to be able to attend. Thing is, we can only really do what we can do, if it means various meets across the globe so everyone gets a chance for a ‘SA meet’ then so be it

Howie, how about arranging a meet at the WMC?

i never heard there was a fire there. i vacationed in the uk about 5 years ago. it had been my dream for years to go to gatecrasher/the republic. the thing that sucked was that i didnt plan the trip well and when my girlfriend and i where in sheffield it was a hip hop night, luckily i got to see scott bond at the honeyclub on my last night before i had to go back to the states, even though i dont listen to trance that much anymore the gatecrasher comps are still some of my favorite mixes of all time

You came down to Brighton then? Bit of a mission from Sheffield for sure! lol.

Hope you liked my home town buddy

London’s a little far for me up North here, but it can be done

Sounds like a class idea.

You can get train tickets really cheap if you book weeks in advance

i picked up a young persons rail car pass and traveled all over the uk , i lied about being a student but it saved me a arm and a leg

and yea roben ,brighton was a lovely town, after the set i walked on the pebble beaches thinking how cool it was that i finally made it to the uk but also sad that i had to leave. the scene for electronic music in the states is a lot different than the uk and im sure europe. i wish things would change in that regard.
