scott (24/07/2010)
Q.Why stick music on Soundcloud or any other social networking tool, rather than send it to labels which specialise in the particular sound you’re going for?

A.You haven’t heard back from the labels. Either that or you’re a total ****tard.
right in there at number 1 you havnt heard back from anyone because your attitude smacks of "im a ****in wrongun "and also your tracks are probably ****

and, or i may own my own label … and or i may just release under a  guise … and or u have no idea wtf your talking about bro … stop playing with yourself and get a grip…  there are a select few here that are proper audio pros …excluding roben and icn and phil… he he he … dude stop being a twat please respond 2 this … please !

Scot… How tall are you? It seems that you have something to prove… like you have what many people call “little man syndrome”.

The only reason people attack you is because of your attitude. Someone on the forum has asked for advice and instead of giving them healthy advice, you just bring them down and slate whatever is given to them - not on bud that isn’t. Pointless you being here if your going to be so negative towards people.

Anyways, back to the topic… Soundcloud is fantastic for getting your tracks heard. I signed up for a SOLO account ages ago and ever since then, i have grown quite a collection of fans that always listen to my mixes and productions and provide feedback which is great! Also, another reason Soundcloud is good is because people offer free tracks on there. Its a good starting block to get feedback from people all across the world. Spamming has never been a problem for me on there. i think you have to hold one of the larger accounts to be able to email all of your friends. I get about two - three emails a month on there which i would class as spam… doesn’t bother me thou because i like listening to other peoples music and giving them feedback, thats what its all about.

Another good place to go and get your music heard is Laidback Luke’s OFFICIAL Site/Forum. There is a particular forum on the message boards where you can post a link to you track and LBL personally listens to it and provides feedback. He has done it ever since he opened his site up. He says its something he enjoys doing, giving people feedback, helping them purely because of how much support he gets from people. A few friends i made on there years back, they posted tracks and were that good that LBL played them out in his sets and also signed a few of them  There are a lot of big names that get on the site too… mainly dutch but you have Angger Dimas, Bart B More, Laidback Luke, Hardwell, Afrojack and DIPLO makes an appearance every now and again. I suggest you have a look over there fella.

And you have your obvious ones like Facebook, Mixcloud, Lets Mix, Twitter and lots of others which again are valuable and getting your music heard. Make a group on Facebook and send every one who joins 2 messages a month just updating them on any events you have coming up, new mixes and productions and even if you only get 10-20 people from 100 going to your mixes, that amount of people will soon snowball and get your music heard elsewhere.

Lastly, have you thought about contacting Blogging Sites? There are two in particular that i look at at least 3-4 times a day for new music. One of which is www.electrostation.net and www.beatjunks.com If you contact them there all about supporting new artists. As long as you track isnt signed then there happy to promote if for you.

Hope the post helped fella

See, why do you have to continue with posting on it… if no-one has anything constructive to say, just dont say it…

Ditto you total ****spaz.
scott (25/07/2010)
Ditto you total ****spaz.
lol well if you had even bothered to read my post you would have seen that mine was constructive…

Be nice, people.

everyone’s entitled to there own opinion but insulting people who dont agree with you or say something you dont agree with is very small minded imo if you cant say anything nice dont bother…

back to topic anyway lol…when i get something worth sharing i will be sharing it on soundcloud, facebook, myspaz etc although i dont do spamming just maybe a post on my status as i’ve always done with my dj mixes i’m not in it for money so getting released is not that important to me and if a tune is that good when uploading just disable downloads then there’s no issue’s with it been leaked;)

for me i just would like people to hear my music and enjoy it

the site is here:

Hmm it seems most people suggest postin links in appropriate forums! I’ve found posting on the Swedishhousemafia site does my review numbers no harm, but I’m gonna look at a few HouseJak suggested, I think I just need to formulate a little list.
