we as customers should be abe too debate about the tuts in a positive and negative light, that way Phi and Bryan can take up what we think to improve their services
Phil and Bryan won’t stop you debating these things and i won’t delete them.

Just keep it as constructive criticism and you’ll be ok
I know you guys won’t if you did I wouldn’t be here full stop

I just think everyone seems to be ganging up on Rob just because he expressed a constructive negative opinion

@Roben Dude I just think there is a way to deal with things if you are not happy! What benefits you might not benefit someone else, there is always going to be unhappy ppl, you cant please everybody ! I have been subscribed for a while here now and from every video, there is definitely you can learn something and I am sure you know that.

Coming to Music Theory Videos, I have watched part 1 of music theory, it was pretty decent but this topic can take a life time to master, it just cant be done in 30 + videos. For me part 1 was basic stuff, part 2 would be basic in my perception as well, coz tbh I have a good understanding of music theory.

I think here its a case of perception ! What might be tablestakes for you would mean the world to someone else !

the problem with debating something is that you’ll always get two sides and if people think that he is being unfair then they will let it be known.

I’ve already spoken to rob and others and i’m keeping and eye on threads that have been reported to me, if i feel that someone or something over steps the mark then i will jump in and sort it out.

I’m just trying to imagine this council…
ICN (21/11/2010)
Haha! Howie - It was you that said that originally - not me.

You’re a disaster when you try to be smart.
You are seriously making no sense whatsoever man. I’m a disaster when I try to be smart? That’s interesting. I’ll take that as a compliment, I suppose.

how could i sleep with the stress of making main room house techno trance tutorials all the time.

Like i said in the tutorial i spend days using the techniques i showed you coming up with stuff that sound cool… I could say going form a Cmin to a Gsharp to Fmaj and using a melody of a d, c to a and back will make you a No1 beatport hit but its an ever evolving sea of changing ****. whats cool today is only cool for 20mins… if you arnt already learning to thin for yourself in terms of chords your already way behind the game… and its something no one can really teach.

Its about what 'feels" right

either that or im totally pissed!! ;)

Roben (21/11/2010)
Constructive critism.

It’s an interesting line, and i’ll admit this post is going to go a bit down the sociology route, but all people like to say that they like constructive critism, however it’s a complete contridiction, because most people hate it.

For example, just like whenever one of the judges says anything that is negative on Xfactor (even though they may be completely right / it’s totally constructive critism) people still BOO and get defensive.

The problem is, that people don’t like to hear (or in this case read) anything that is negative, even if it’s 100% completely construtive critism. People don’t like to read something that conflicts with their ideology.

The other fact of the matter is ‘constructive critism’ is mearly one persons ‘opinion’ and ‘view’. This comes from their own viewpoint on the world around them, or even their own ideal preferences / way of learning / ideals.

For example - appologies for going back to xfactor here - Simon Cowel could mention that the singer went out of key (which they did), but that singers fans who may not have a proper musical ear, or mearly they refuse to think their idol / friend / family could ever possibly go wrong, they will BOO and get defensive over it.

It’s stupid. I observe this sh*t in people all the time, humans are always contradicting themselves.
Constructive Criticism is for people who are confident and can handle negative critism . so yeahh probably people who are unsecure about themself or feel that they will get offended . they shouldnt get any kind of Criticism for their own sake . IMO

people need to understand that they are here to LEARN and not hate .
here to LEARN and not hate .
Maybe this could be the new motto for the site?

Or maybe even a tick box on registration that says “I agree I am here to LEARN and not hate” before being allowed to sign up.

Wow, even I am surprised at this

techno is especially popular… prog is also popular.

could be that in much of europe they use “techno” to describe a much broader base of genres.
