Mainroom House
phil johnston (22/11/2010)
techno is especially popular… prog is also popular.

could be that in much of europe they use “techno” to describe a much broader base of genres.
That is a valid point especially noticeing alot more techno tunes coming out of eastern and baltic states in recent years

That really baffles me Phil i went back over the techno series to see if there were like pretty pictures or stuff in them because as we all know anyone who willingly pays for a tutorial on Minimal was born without ears.

BOOM
the minimal and techno tutorials are the biggest sellers.

I think minimal and techno heads are maybe just less interested in the forums n stuff.
I knew that would be the case. From looking on the 'net, theres an unreal demand for tech related content & fk all available.

One thread with about 150 posts in it has had around 22000 views - in a year.

Huge demand. Smart money would be to make a few more. Theres nothing out there at this pricepoint.

In terms of the Forums - Maybe… But do they really know they exist?

Possibly a suggestion would be to add an info splash at the end of each vid - like credits - saying 2 things:

1. Visit our excellent forums @ www…

2. Please pay for the education you receive. Dont DL illegal Vids.

Its crazy the amout of SA stuff out there. I’ve got google alerts set up for Tech Production stuff. Surprising the amount of links to Warez sites with all the Tuts. You’ll never stop it, but it needs to be acknowledged. At least if they come to the site, use the forums & fall in love with the place, they’ll guilt themselves into supporting you. Even if it happened with 10% of the people who DL’d the vids illegally - it would be better in your pocket than theirs.

Concerning the forums - I think if the tec heads are from eastern europe thy may feel their standard off english is not good enough and therefore feel a little intimidated to post

But pay for what you learn banner at the end could do no harm - though as we have said before its always going to be part of any internet streaming website

Trance tut please!

Hey someone was gonna say it, might as well be me!

wooooo oooo oooo oooo ooooo BARBRA STREISAND

You will notice almost all the links that go to file share site for sonic stuff have been removed and dont work.

@Phil - Nah… never checked them. Thats cool.

What do you think about the idea of some kind of forum advert / guilt trip in the vids?

I would find it annoying if i was a paid member seeing it all the time.

We are defo way more on it than we have ever been.

Maybe even just on the DL vids?

Cool… Just thinking about ye!

Love this site. Hate seeing someone who has paid for it sharing it out like that. Theres a whole karma thing.

Well it is also up to us to report these links - but to be honest I have not seen any for a while - so SA must be quite on top off it

I do think some kinda ‘message’ needs to be spread though, perhaps on the end / beginning of videos? People need to realise that SA is only a small company and illegal downloads will only kill the company which means NO MORE VIDEOS.

People don’t think.

Action = consequence

I +1 Robens +1 of my idea! :stuck_out_tongue: :hehe:

haha!

I wouldnt find it annoying. I think it wouldnt hurt. Its not something that would stop me subscribing / watching vids.

Exactly, it’s not as if DVD videos don’t have an advert at the beginning of theirs?!
Roben (21/11/2010)
Constructive critism.

The problem is, that people don’t like to hear (or in this case read) anything that is negative, even if it’s 100% completely construtive critism. People don’t like to read something that conflicts with their ideology.

i can remember you getting a bit upset when scott ripped your track apart, maybe he was correct, maybe it was complete **** but i said something to him because what he said to you wouldn’t have helped you in any way. constructive criticism is simple, only criticize if you have the relevant knowledge to help the person improve or if you have input that have a positive effect.

Actually I think you’ll find (and if it’s at all possible to find the thread and read back) it was other people who threw it down on him, i didn’t get upset at all.

Anyways not all critism has a positive effect, it depends on how the person takes it.

weren’t we talking about mainroom house?
