Thank God I found a Tut on YT on how to make Meth from around the same time as these

Picked up a Space Echo today… Cat hasnt got off it since I brought it home, she’s fkn jealous. Just cos I was away for a few hours - Seriously!

Absolutely beautiful thing. I havent even seen if it works apart from turning it on (The Space Echo, that is… :stuck_out_tongue: ) - But I dont give a fk if it does or not… Its fkn class.

Its a little wrinkly - but its been working. Thats to be expected.

Turns out that it used to belong to a Guy that my Dad worked with years ago. Small world. Would be interesting to know the all the fkn connections that you dont know you have

And btw… thats a Basil Plant :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow that is beautiful! Congrats on the find!

I’m new to the forum as well, I hail from Chicago. I love techno, mainly the harder/darker stuff like Liebing, Beyer, Surgeon ect ect ect. I’ve been making techno for 14 years as a side hobby but never put much effort into it. Lately a bunch of people have been pushing me to get serious so here I am!

I’ve already improved ten fold just from watching the tutorials, things like mastering escaped me and now they are finally making sense!

I’m a huge CLR podcast fan and try to get out and see Chris and Co. every time they are near and just wanted to say hi to those in the thread! I’ve been going back through and reading everything in this thread as well, some real cool tips for sure!

I guess I need a question somewhere in here so here it is… in many “modern” techno songs there are pads or synths or post FX stabs that come in very rarely that are literally louder than the whole rest of the track, yet they don’t sound out of place.

Sometimes it’s a minor chord pad sound, sometimes it’s a “stressed-metal” sound, but they are always SEARING above the rest of the song. They usually have a long tail of reverb/delay… but mine never sit in the mix right. I’ll either make you deaf or it doesn’t have the impact I’m looking for.

The sounds are punctuated somehow, and sound “hyper real” if that makes any sense. I’m gonna go scour soundcloud to find an example now… but either way cheers, this forum/you guys rock!

welcome to the forum man, youve found the right place!!

post up some youtube vids of the stuff you mentioned above

oh and youll need to get yourself an avatar :hehe::cool:

I know this was posted last year about the beatelite templates but id thought id share my experience. I went ahead and bought the progressive house one but when I got it, it didn’t sound that clean and sounded very gritty and not finished. So I sent an email just stating i was giving feedback and this would help them develop better templates in the future.

I got a quick reply and it basically said something like, they think its a excellently mixed track and the guy who made it is massive in dance music. Not the sort of response i was looking for!

Also be aware that you only have 5 days from purchase to download them and they expire, so make sure you back up on a hard drive or somewhere else just in case. You are also only allowed 3 downloads. I asked about this and why only 5 days etc and as of yet I havent even had a reply and its been well over a week now so looks like they have my money and dont really care about the service now, so just be aware guys…

So are they sh!t Darren, or great?
ICN (31/07/2011)
So are they sh!t Darren, or great?
Well, i would say ive maybe learned a couple of things but for the price your better off with Sonic Academy, at least the videos teach you, as opposed to Beatelite, all you get is a template, no videos teaching you, i suppose you could just tweak the settings, eq’s etc but every track is different so unless you wanna keep buying templates for each genre id say stick to SA.

There’s already templates on the ableton website for minus as well as a lot of other stuff -free. It was a nice peak into how they make their tunes, have tried to incorporate what they’re doing into my tracks now.

pokes head in

Haven’t been on SA for aaaaages and am back in the studio!

How’s my techno militia buddies then?
